It wouldn't be a proper game of footy without the perfect sausage roll dipped in Heinz Tomato Ketchup. The perfect pre-game snack for the whole family. Whip up this quick and easy finger food recipes before the big game and you’ll be sure to have a good time no matter the outcome of the match.

500g coarsely ground pork mince

1 small onion, finely diced

¼ cup Heinz Tomato Ketchup

½ cup soft breadcrumbs

30g toasted fennel seeds, ground

2 sheets ready-rolled puff pastry, thawed

2 egg yolks, lightly beaten (for glazing)

Sesame Seeds for sprinkling

METHOD
1.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (fan assisted). Line a baking tray with baking paper.

Heat a dash of oil in a pan over medium heat and gently sauté the onion until soft. Add the fennel seeds and cook for a further minute. Set aside to cool.

In a bowl,mix together the mince,breadcrumbs,onion mixture and Heinz Tomato Ketchup. Divide the mixture into 4.

Roll out the pastry and cut the pastry sheets in half. Spoon a quarter of the mixture down the centre of a pastry sheet and brush the edge with a little egg yolk glaze to seal. Roll the pastry to enclose the filling. Place on the prepared baking tray,seam side down. Repeat with the remaining pastry and filling.

Roll the mince tight inside the pastry,gluing pastry together with egg yolk glaze

Brush the pastry tops with egg yolk glaze and sprinkle over sesame seeds. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden and the filling is cooked. Transfer to a wire rack and allow to stand for 5 minutes before cutting each roll into 5 pieces. Serve warm with extra Heinz Tomato Ketchup on the side.
